Happy Cat is a 501(c)3 non-profit in Long Island, New York. Our mission is to save the lives of cats and ensure they are provided with the quality of life every creature deserves, including access to medical care, proper nutrition, adequate shelter, and the freedom and safety to live without fear of sickness, neglect, or abuse.
Happy Cat rescues cats that have no place else to go, including cats that have been victims of hoarding situations, shot at, targeted by gangs for use as bait in dog fighting rings, blind cats, cats with FIV, and cats of abusive and neglectful owners. Over 200 cats reside at the sanctuary, which is composed of indoor and outdoor shelters and areas to roam, scratch, lounge, and climb. All cats are neutered, have access to vet care, and are regularly brushed and given lots of love and attention. Cats and kittens are available for adoption. Please visit our Adoption page for more information.
About Happy Cat
About Chris Arsenault
Chris has dedicated his life to the rescue and care of hundreds of cats. Chris started rescuing in 2006 after his 24-year-old son Eric lost his life in a tragic accident when the throttle on his motorcycle stuck. After this devastating loss, Chris accidentally came across a cat colony of 30 sick kittens. He removed the kittens from the colony and nursed them back to health. It was at that point that Chris knew saving cats was his calling, and he opened Happy Cat Sanctuary.
