Sponsor a Cat!

These cats at our sanctuary are not eligible for adoption because they are either too feral and/or they have extraordinary medical conditions. By sponsoring one of these beautiful cats, you are ensuring that they have a safe place to stay.
Please choose a cat from our list below to "virtually adopt"!
Carmine (shooting survivor)

Hello, I'm Carmine! I was living in a colony with 21 other cats in Great Neck, New York. One day, an evil man started shooting at us with a pellet gun on a daily basis. He shot me in my ear, and it got infected. Luckily, a nice man named Chris who runs Happy Cat Sanctuary found out about this evil being done upon me and my colony. Chris called the police and camped out for a week in order to trap me and my 21 friends and bring us all back to the sanctuary. My ear had to be amputated because of the infection, but that's okay - I'm ALIVE thanks to Happy Cat Sanctuary!

Chance (special needs)

Hi, I'm Chance. My brother, Radar, and I were left to die in a shed as kittens because we have disabilities. I have cerebellar hypoplasia, which makes me shake. Radar was born blind. Despite our disabilities, we are NOT disabled! We are still ABLE to run around, play with other cats, eat, jump, socialize, and LOVE. I'm was sad to think that just because Radar and I have disabilities that we weren't worth saving. Luckily Happy Cat Sanctuary saved me and Radar and literally warmed my lifeless body back to health. I would love if you virtually adopted me! And please like me on Facebook!

Destiny (hoarding survivor)

Hello, I'm Destiny! Happy Cat saved me from a terrible situation in Central Islip, where a woman hoarded me and 50 other cats in a filthy, condemned house. There were dead cats and dogs, feces everywhere, and the floor was caving in. Gangs tried to trap us so they could use us as bait in their dog fighting rings. Luckily, Happy Cat Sanctuary and A Wing and a Prayer rescue saved me and 30 cats from that terrible place! Now we live at Happy Cat, healthy and safe. Please virtually adopt me so I don't have to go back to an awful place like that again!

Sandy (collar wound survivor)

Hi I'm Sandy, named after the hurricane I survived! I had a collar wrapped around my leg, and it rubbed my skin raw and gave me a really bad open wound. I was left behind when my family had to leave their house when the neighborhood flooded. I was starving and lost a lot of weight and the collar became too big for me, so I got my leg stuck in it. That's why it's so important to put only break-away collars on your outdoor cats. Happy Cat rescued me - check out the video to the left of my rescue! Please virtually adopt me so I don't have to go back on the streets!

Radar (blind)

Hi, I'm Radar. I'm blind, but that doesn't slow me down from having fun! My sister, Chance, and I were left to die as kittens because we have disabilities. We were left in a shed to die of cold or starvation, whichever killed us first. Despite being blind, I am NOT disabled! I am still ABLE to run around, play with other cats, eat, jump, socialize and love. I'm was sad to think that just because Chance and I have disabilities that we weren't worth saving. Luckily, my new daddy, Chris, runs a sanctuary and he saved us from certain death. Please virtually adopt me. *SMOOCH!*

Tyson (dog fighting survivor)

Hi!!!!! I'm Tyson! What's your name? I'm super excited to meet you!! I gotta tell you, I love life at Happy Cat Sanctuary....I even like the cats! Life wasn't always great for me. A few years ago, I was beaten and abused in dog fighting rings in New York. I wasn't a good fighter, so they dumped me on the streets. A shelter found me, but the shelter was going to put me down. Luckily, a man named Chris who owns a cat sanctuary rescued me. A cat man rescuing a dog?! I couldn't believe it! Now instead of fighting, I get to play!! If you virtually adopt me, I will love you foreverrrrr! *kisses*

Freedom (neglect survivor)

Hi I'm Freedom. When I was a kitten, I was dumped in the woods with my brothers and sisters and left to die. Luckily, a nice man named Chris (that's him on the left!) and some of his volunteers rescued us - watch the video of our rescue. We were taken to Brooklyn Vet Group and given treatment. Then Chris took us back to his cat sanctuary. Three of my siblings were adopted out to great homes. Here, I am living with my rescuer, living FREE and safe! Before, I was a bad little kitten who used to hiss at humans, but now I love people! Please virtually adopt me so I can live free of fear!

Miracle (near-death survivor)

Hi, my name is Miracle. I was so, so sick that I nearly died. I was abandoned by my former owner in the freezing cold snow. I was literally skin and bones. A nice man named Chris took me back to his sanctuary and force fed me for three months until I was able to start eating on my own. No one believed I would make it except Chris. Now, I eat on my own, I have gained my weight back, and I LOVE Happy Cat! I really enjoy life and I wouldn't want to wish the torture I went through upon any other living creature. Please virtually adopt me so I can continue to get the nutrition I need. Thank mew!

Bobka (lost owner)

Hello, I'm Bobka! My owner got sick and passed away. I was really sad, but luckily I have found a great home at Happy Cat Sanctuary! A loving lady named Rachael cared about me so much and helped me get to Happy Cat safe and sound so I can enjoy life playing with other cats, climbing trees, getting brushed by my new mommy Linda (Happy Cat's volunteer), and getting fed yummy treats by my daddy Chris (Happy Cat founder). I don't know what I would have done without Happy Cat. Please virutally adopt me so I don't end up in a kill shelter or on the streets. *smooch!*
